Animal Management Training Australia is a leading provider of early intervention and animal behaviour training for Vet Clinics, Council Animal Management Officers, and professionals handling animals as part of their job.
Our courses are specifically designed to teach participants how to assess, recognise, and use fundamental and complex animal behaviour and body language to reduce risk, de-escalate, and keep themselves safe around high risk animals.

Animal Management Training Australia delivers early intervention and risk reduction training specifically designed to meet the needs of professionals regularly handling and working with high risk animals, including Animal Management Officers, Rangers, Local Laws and Shelter teams, vet clinics, dog walkers, and groomers.
We use our extensive experience and the latest research in animal body language and behaviour to help you reduce the risk of bites and attacks while approaching, working with, or handling animals.
Our engaging, and interactive online and in person workshops have been created to keep YOU safe before animals reach crisis point. Our fundamental training includes the following:

Using an animal's body language and behaviour is fundamental to making good management and handling choices. We teach you how to use both common and complex dog and cat body language to:

Recognise behavioural characteristics of high risk dogs and cats
Predict and/or reduce aggression
Prevent potential bites and attacks
Clearly communicate with owners

Designed for both new and experienced animal management officers, rangers, shelter staff, veterinary professionals and others handling high risk dogs and cats this module will teach you how to:
Safely approach and control dogs and cats
Use of restraint equipment
Safe handling
Loading and unloading animals
Management of animals in your care
Appropriate PPE and toolbox inclusions

In response to increasing reports of mental health and training problems in domestic animals we now include a comprehensive module focusing on common mental health and training problems impacting animal management professionals, including:

In line with our Fear Free Certification our workshops do NOT include the use of live animals. We use detailed video footage recorded in our behaviour clinic, at partnering council facilities, and content submitted by experienced field officers to best capture subtle changes in body language and behaviour that are fundamental to risk assessment and early intervention.

We acknowledge that we work and live on the traditional lands of the Kaurna and Ngarrindjeri people and recognise their deep and sacred connection with land, water, and animals.
